Fesco energy designs and maintains energy solutions for every application, regardless of industry.

Energy efficiency is the cornerstone of reducing wasted resources, cost, and your carbon footprint. Typical energy efficiency development begins with your controls strategy and dashboard depicting energy usage. Physical equipment changes that reduce energy consumption include, but are not limited to, lighting retrofits, HVAC upgrades, VFD additions, and chiller, boiler, and/or pump/motor replacements. Distributed Generation (DG) is defined as constructing energy systems specific to a customer’s energy demand profile and operability/resiliency requirements. FESCO positions those DG systems behind a customer’s meter and owns the assets. Customers agree to an offtake (volume and demand) and pay FESCO per unit of energy consumed. All energy rate structures utilize the existing tariff rate as the baseline. DG assets could include an entire central plant (build new or buy your existing plant), solar arrays, combined heat and power systems, fuel cells, wind turbines, and thermal/electrical/mechanical storage systems. Energy dashboard and analytics provide data for managing energy consumption; they also  affirm enrollment activities in the regulated markets (ancillary, frequency, and demand programs). Dashboards enable operational views of actual energy being consumed in “near-real-time” compared to design or baseline data, enabling top management and operators to pinpoint issues or explain unforeseen energy charges. Retro-commissioning (RCx) is the act of s fine-tuning existing buildings and systems in order to restore them to their optimal operation, and deep-diving into their sequencing to create a more efficient use of energy. This is realized via scheduling, sequencing, controls programming, and optimizing set points. While retrofitting may be involved in RCx activities, RCx focuses on improving the efficiency of what is already in place. Click on the drop-down menu on the left for more information.

Energy supply. FESCO can provide competitive electricity and natural gas service contracts in all competitive states. As part of a comprehensive DG or energy efficiency project, securing the best available pricing for electricity and natural gas can demonstrably de-risk your operating budget. Financing projects is the bedrock of FESCO’s services, offering nearly all industry and customer types access to low-cost options to support their goals of energy efficiency, reduced carbon footprint, and increased resiliency. We arrange financing for any and all customers that qualify, and we are able to finance energy efficiency projects for periods as long as 20 years. Depending on the financing arrangement, FESCO can:

  • guarantee that savings will meet the principal and interest payments
  • arrange off-balance sheet treatment (not a capital lease)
  • finance projects as small as $25,000 and as large as $100,000,000

It is noted that DG projects are not financed for the customer — they are owned assets of FESCO. Click on the drop-down menu on the left for more information.
